First home game encourages school spirit: This was the first multimedia package posted of this year. I liked this piece's storytelling quality. It covered the events of the day and how they encouraged school spirit, despite the ending result of the night. The footage emulated the energy of the day, as students felt excitement for the kickoff of the new school year. This piece shows my ability to shoot various angles, capture the story and capture the human element of the day.

Mock trial wins district competition: This piece was important in showing news comprehension and gathering. Our Mock Trial team dedicates almost 400 hours a year to preparing their case and I thought sharing their struggles and triumphs would showcase their efforts. Through narration, I tried to capture the emotion of the case and let the videography showcase the nature of a Mock Trial competition.
This received an Honorable Mention in Multimedia Storytelling from Ball State University Journalism Day. |

Dance classes promote Spanish culture:This package was one of my first experiences with filming. I thought it was a good opportunity to take quick videos, obtain audio overlay and do it in a naturally exciting and fun environment. Editing multimedia can be a slow process when first starting, so doing something that required quick footage and could be uploaded instantly, while still covering a human interest angle, was a good introduction to multimedia.

National French Week educates students: This was a challenging news package. French classes and French club participated in various activities throughout the week, which required four or five after school days in order to shoot all necessary footage. However, these efforts were rewarding as I enjoyed watching students unite in a cultured environment and felt it was a great representative of student interaction and human interest.
